The Schreiber Properties is a family owned and managed business that was founded by Henry Schreiber in 1966. An immigrant and Holocaust survivor from Krakow, Poland, Henry started the company by purchasing brownstones on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Initially focusing on acquiring brownstones close to Central Park West, Henry later expanded his portfolio by purchasing larger 20-50 units buildings across Harlem, Washington Heights, and Queens.

His sons took over management in the 1990s and focused on improving the properties while contributing to the beautification of the neighborhood through exterior building improvements.

Today, the third generation of Schreibers have expanded into property development and have led multiple successful joint ventures with like-minded family offices. The desire to create harmonious tenant communities, enhance neighborhoods, and invest in environmentally thoughtful products has become the mission of the company.
